Sharing YouTube video to Apple Notes

For years, I have shared YouTube videos to my Apple Notes, by clicking the share icon on the video and selecting Apple Notes. (It is not the same as copying and pasting the URL, where as you would only see the link in notes.) Sharing the YouTube video to Apple Notes appears as image of the video that allowed me to watch the video in Apple Notes while taking notes.

The other day I went to share a YouTube video to Apple Notes and there was no longer an option to select Apple Notes. I cannot figure out why it’s no longer there or how to get it back. Any research I’ve done says that has never been possible, but it was and I still have notes in my Apple Notes that have the YouTube videos in them.

Does anyone know how I can get my YouTube to be able to share a video in Apple Notes again? Thank you 🙏🏻

Glad to know I’m not alone! I spent hours the other day adjusting settings and researching how to get Apple Notes back on YouTube’s share and was unsuccessful. However, I figured out a solution to get the video to show up in Apple Notes, but it’s a multi step process…

On the YouTube video, share then Copy Link.
Paste the link in your Apple Notes.
Then press and hold down the link in Apple Notes and select share again.
Then select Apple Notes.
Save the note and your YouTube video will be available to watch in Apple Notes.

I agree. What is the purpose of Apple doing this and with no explanation either?! They’ve messed up the camera, exposed us to getting viruses cut off upgrades for older models just so you have to buy the new and horribly expensive one! I wish they’d stop trying to keep up with others and just give a good and safe product. I miss Steve Jobs!

I’ve got the same thing. I’ve been sharing YouTube to Apple Notes for years!! Suddenly today Notes isn’t available anymore for selection. Driving me insane.
