One purchased song not syncing to iPhone

I have one song, purchased from iTunes, that has suddenly decided to stubbornly refuse to sync to my iPhone (despite having been synced before). I have tried - deleting the file and redownloading it; desyncing and resyncing playlists that the song is on; editing the metadata of the song by adding a comment; syncing the specific artist and album to the iPhone; clicking and dragging the song to the iPhone. It just won't go on there. I'm at a loss.

iPhone 15, iOS 18

Have you tried to create a new playlist with just the song in it? This might help sync it.

If syncing fails, you can try to deauthorize and reauthorize the computer and it might refresh the license/DRM related issue. Is this a DRM protected song? You can find out by right clicking on it then pick "Get Info" from the context menu that pops up. In the info window, choose the "File" tab and it shows on the top what kind of file it is.

On your iPhone, you can go to Settings > Music > Sync Library and toggle it off and on again.
