Apple Watch Series 10 enamel/paint peeling issue within two months

I purchased an Apple watch Series 10 and withing 2 months the enamel/paint has started peeling off. Apple or Officeworks is refusing to replace/repair saying its cosmetic and doesn't affect the operation of the watch. Apple store have the same stance, surely after only two months surely this isn't right under consumer law ?
