How do I link notes with attachments to reminders on macOS 15.3.1?

Running Mac OS 15.3.1

I want to link a note in notes to a reminder.

I can do this using the share button and it works well, except ... when the note contains an attachment (eg Pdf)

If the note contains an attachment, the link to reminder does not even pop up ...

am I doing something wrong ?

Any fix ?

This is so annoying and counter-productive ...

I believe I have your solution. I have a lot of trouble using this feature because it seems only work from my iPhone. And even then it does not always work perfect.

  1. On iPhone, open your Note.
  2. Tell Siri "remind me about this"
  3. It then creates a Reminder that has the little Notes icon embedded in it.
  4. Now in Reminders, you'll see it looks different because there's a little Note icon. Tap that and you'll launch straight into the Note (sometimes it's hard to tap just right). So this is basically adding a special shortcut to the Reminder. (This does not use the "share" or "URL link" etc. at all.)

Note:

-- This does not use the "share" feature at all.

-- Recently I've learned that with Siri + Apple Intelligence + ChatGPT makes this trickier because they think you're asking ChatGPT to remind of you something contextual. So I deactivated all of that to provide this example.

Hi Barney,

a daily restart ... does not help.

I have 2 options :

  • use the 'share' (box with up-arrow) and select reminders
    • then the above window pops-up, asking for a person/email

  • use the 'share' (box with up-arrow) and select 'copy link'
    • I can copy / paste this link in a Reminder URL field

but that's it.

No smooth integration, at least not for me.

Unless I am missing something ...

Thanks Barney,

I restarted and ... now there is another different, but still not perfect, behavior.

I create a note with our without attachment, I can 'share' it, but when I share to 'reminders' I got this :

So I can only share it to 'someone' reminder??

on the other hand, I can share a link, copy that link in a reminder-url and that seems to work.

Also on iPhone

So ... it kind-off works, but not a smooth integration I would expect from cooperating Apple apps ...

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Luc

That's what I see. That's why I'm confused as to why you say "link" when you use "share." I take "share" to mean

"with someone."

To create a "link," I would drag it into Reminders, but that doesn't do anything.
