Why does the caps lock icon only flash in the document name field in pages?

When I turn on caps lock from the MX keyboard my caps lock icon flashes when I'm naming the document. No where else does this happen. Not in the document or the other naming fields like where: or Tags. Not in the document body. only in the Name field. No other apps does this happen.
