What is the point of unticking / ticking songs in Apple Music?

Ideally, you could untick songs. They stay in your library, but don't play when you try to play that album, skipping over unloved album tracks. But if I untick things, it doesn't sync through to devices, so it's kind of pointless these days?

Block or hide specific songs How can I block or hide specific songs from playing? This is not about explicit music or entire artists. "Suggest Less Like This" will not work in this scenario. For example, how can I prevent a single track from playing while listening to a single album or from a certain track from coming up randomly in my station or playlists? Thank you!

Apple Music Classical Is there any way to not have music you add to your Apple Music Classical library or playlists also add to Apple Music proper? For a lot of reasons I was looking to keep my music libraries separated to keep better organized. If this isn't something you can do now it would be great for there to be an option like 'do not sync to apple music' or something if you want your libraries segmented.

There is no such thing as a ticked song on the iPhone and there never was. It is only a feature on the Mac and does skip the song when playing there. If you want to add the ticked song feature to the iPhone, then you can send feedback here:
