Can I reset a new Mac mini to factory settings when password doesn't work?

Unable to login to new mac mini while upgrading from Sequoia 15.1 to 15.3 New password does not work, can't login. Have nothing on the new mini so I can reseat from scratch

Now has login screen but password doesn't work. Can I reset mini to factory specs to redo the whole set up. No data or programs to lose so that's not a concern?

and if you still can’t reset your password, then see:

If you can’t reset you Mac login password - Apple Support

And then, if you still feel the need to erase the whole kit, Erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings - Apple Support
