Remove Device From Account

I have possession of a MacBook Pro (a company owned laptop) that is showing in my personal Apple Account list of trusted devices. When I try to remove it from my personal account, I get the following message:

"Because Stolen Device Protection is turned on, some of your account information can’t be changed on the web. To remove a device from your account, use your other Apple devices."

I've tried to remove it from my personal apple account on literally every device that I own and that company owned laptop, but it will not let me remove it. The company owned laptop is not signed in to my Apple Account (it's using a different work-managed Apple Account).

How do I remove this company owned laptop from my personal Apple Account?

I fixed this by signing into my personal Apple Account on the work laptop and then signing back out, making sure not to keep a copy of the keychain.
