Unable to exit VoiceOver tutorial in my MacBook running macOS X 10.10

Let's start with:
- Has this always been an issue with this keyboard and your Mac, or just started happening recently?
- Where did you get this refurbished keyboard?
- Which exact model is your Mac?
- Is it still running OS X Yosemite 10.10, or is it updated to 10.10.5?
When working, there are a few methods to exit the VoiceOver tutorial:
- Via the keyboard: Press Control + Option + Command + Escape to exit the VoiceOver tutorial directly, or disable VoiceOver: Press Command + F5 to toggle VoiceOver off.
- Via the VoiceOver Menu Bar: Press Control + Option + M to move focus to the Menu Bar.:
- Use the Left and Right Arrow keys to cycle through menu items.
- Use the Down Arrow to open a selected menu.
