CD writer to Macbook Pro
I have a Mac OS 14.6.1 SONOMA laptop. I want to look at CDs and DVDs. To do this I have connected my Samsung DVD writer Model SE-208. But it does not show up on my desktop. Is it too old?

It may be too old, but here are a couple tips.
• Connect the drive directly to the Mac. Use a USB-A to USB-C plug adapter or cable.
• The empty drive device will not show up on the desktop until you insert a CD or DVD disc.
• Also, make sure that in Finder > Settings... > General you have allowed CDs, DVDs and iPods to show on the desktop.
