WiFi printing used to work perfectly from Mac laptops to my Brother MFC-L8650CDW laser printer. Now it's only possible using a USB cable. But the iPrint & Scan App will still scan via wifi, so a connection to the printer has been made. So why does it always says "Offline" in the printer driver now?

When you print from your iPhone, are you using the Share icon > Print as explained in Print from iPhone - Apple Support?
Or are you using Brother's app?
The answer may suggest additional steps to take.

The Last macOS version with Brother Drivers was macOS 10.15 Catalina released 2019

You're right that it's not in the list of AirPrint devices, but it did work via wifi and the same laptops previously, and still works from an iPhone via WiFi. So it's very annoying that it's now apparently stopped despite Brother's own software iPrint&Scan still able to connect to the printer and scan from it.
Is that printer an Apple AirPrint device? I am unable to find it in About AirPrint - Apple Support.
Thanks for the suggestion but I find no relevant drivers in sourceforge. Maybe there are other 3rd party ones though.
