Do you have a technical question for the community?
If you are looking at better pricing, please buy the iPhone SE. But this is not an Apple pricing forum. Please discuss your purchase decision at an Apple or Carrier Store.
One more then I'm done.
I watched the Apple video for the 16e and really it offers nothing special that my SE2 can't already do if a bit slower, etc. And racerhomie, where else can you gripe about Apple products if not to a community like this?
I'd also like to note that I bought my first Apple product on July 31, 1980 and have been a proud member of the community ever since (not to mention contributing greatly to Apple's bottom line).
Hello~ If price is your deciding factor then of course the SE but if you have the wiggle room in your budget from what I have gathered you would be happier purchasing the 16e. It has better battery life performance, a better camera, longer Support and access to Apple Intelligence. I would in your place purchase the 16e. Enjoy whatever you purchase.

There’s more to a product than price: Value.
Better camera, Apple’s first cellular modem and a modern design with the hardware support for Apple Intelligence.
Good luck! 👋🏼😉
Hello, Mahone Bay boy!
The iPhone SE is definitely cheaper than the iPhone 16e, but you get way more in the iPhone 16e (and for a decent price). You can compare the two phones at Apple’s Compare iPhone page.
Personally, I would recommend getting an iPhone 16e because it has huge battery and performance gains, plus having a better design, and also being compatible with new software updates for many years, while the iPhone SE (3rd generation) only has a few years of compatibility left as of now.
I hope this helps!
I have an SE2 and it's working fine though I have had the battery replaced once. I really don't see much improvement in the 16E. I'm just really sorry they didn't keep up the SE line as an inexpensive phone.

The Terms of Use are pretty clear that's not the purpose of this technical support forum. The Hosts are relatively lenient if the complaint is part of request for technical support, e.g. "I hate the way this feature works. How can I make things work differently?" But questions about Apple policies are strictly prohibited.
Mahone Bay is beautiful. More of a Parrsboro/Five Islands girl myself, though.
Several factors to consider, the ability to use Apple Intelligence both now and in the future. Improved performance which benefits virtually every app, bot now and the future. Even with improved performance and enhanced features better battery capacity and life over you ownership period.
Apple Intelligence both may not be your cup of tea right now, but over the course of the iPhones life, it’ll be incorporated into virtually every app you use whether from Apple or third party developers.
On a totally separate issue is the risk of tariffs and the future purchasing power of your dollar.

The SE was always a reasonable price. Now the equivalent is hundred of dollars more expensive. Apple has let us down.
In the 3 years since the last SE appeared there has been substantial inflation in the prices of everything.
Buy the one that best meets your needs and that you can afford. Not sure what else you need from us.

Thanks Platypus4 but I really need only a minimal iPhone. The 16E is $900 in Canada and us retirees need a better deal.
