Press home button to upgrade, but the home button is broken.

Hello,

I've had this problem for a few weeks now. After restoring a back-up via iTunes to my iPhone SE (1st edition), it asks me to press the home button. The only problem is that it's broken. Is there any way I can get past it without having to repair the home button? I have not been able to find anything on the internet, so I hope you'll be able to help me.

Kind regards,

mhjanssen

No. The phone is broken and just like asking how to drive your car if the steering doesn't turn, you need to get it fixed. Only spending any money on an iPhone SE 1st Generation, it would not be a good investment to spend any money on. I'm not even sure Apple would still offer service on your phone at this point. It truly is time to buy a new iPhone.

Apple just released the 4th Generation iPhone SE today, only it is now called iPhone 16E --> iPhone 16e - Apple

Thank you kindly for your replies! I have had the button repaired today, and all is fine again.
As for lobsterghost1, I appreciate your imput on what new phone I could buy. It is however the headphone jack that was important to me, and the 16e does not seem to have one. Either way, many thanks to you both!

I'm glad things are working for you again. Apple just no longer sells an iPhone with a headphone jack. So, you could consider going Bluetooth, which I did a few years ago and simply love the freedom of not being tethered to my devices. Or, you can buy a USB C to 3.5mm headphone adapter from Apple and continue to use your wired headphones.

Here is it from Apple and it only costs $9 --> Buy USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter - Apple
