Location history showing wrong address on iPhone

I was browsing through my location history for number of reasons. Why does my location history display an address that I haven’t visited in a while yet it shows that I was there within this month?

Apple's location history (found under Significant Locations in Settings) tracks where your device has been rather than just where you, personally, have gone. If your iPhone 14 shows a location you haven’t visited recently, consider these possibilities:

  • Someone else used your device – If you lent your phone to someone, even briefly, it might have traveled to that location without you.
  • Connected accessories – If your iPhone was in a bag, backpack, or vehicle that went to that location, it might have registered the visit.
