Why does my Mac keep asking to update to macOS Sonoma?

On my Mac 2019, I updated it to sonoma and my computer isn't compatible with sequoia so I just updated it to sonoma. After that, my Mac asked me to update it again to sonoma so I did but a month later it asked me to do it again. What does that mean? Please tell me. Thank You

Please check to see what version of macOS you are running: from the Apple menu, choose About this Mac

and see what it says next to macOS - does it say Sonoma, and then which numbers? It could be Sonoma 14.3,

Sonoma 14.6, etc.

Note that there have been a few updates to Sonoma, even after Sequoia was released.

I believe the latest is something like Sonoma 14.7.4.

There are 2 iMacs from 2019 that are compatible with Sequoia.

Are you sure this machine is Does Not qualify ?

It is possible, it is not asking you to upGrade to macOS 15.3.1 Sequoia

When the Software Update applet presents, if you scroll down a little it may or may not be offering Sequoia

macOS Sequoia is compatible with these computers

  • iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)
  • iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2019)
