Spontaneous activation Homepod mini

The HomePod turns on by itself, Siri says 'OK,' and starts playing random music. No one activated it, and everything is turned off. After turning it off, it turns back on again by itself within a few minutes, sometimes even seconds.

I had similar problems, it was registering ghost touches. Few days later the touch surface stopped responding and got stuck in pressed state, which lead to infinite reset loop. I hope it's a software issue, or else I'll have to disassemble and disconnect the touch panel cable to make it stop reseting.

I had the same issue, tried cleaning the touch panel (it had grime on it from sitting for so long). This particular one sits in the kitchen in full sunlight might be something to do with the heat it's exposed to daily? I suspect it's a hardware fault.... I've given up and just disconnected and replaced with one from a different room that isn't used as much.

My HomePod also turns itself on by itself and plays rock music! It’s happened three times so far and all in the early hours when my wife and I are asleep 4am, 5am etc. No teenagers. Not a prank. Apple tech were helpful but clueless “it shouldn’t do that…”. Software all up to date. A hard reboot ministered. We wait to see. And no, we don’t own a talking parrot.
