How to fix greyed-out page numbering in a document?

Hello, I am trying to have page numbering in my document, I followed the instructions in the Community about inserting a new section, not numbering anything in the header, etc but didn’t work. Any ideas? Thanks

Add Page greyed out? Saw many questions about this but without a good solution. Until I search Pages' help and noticed, You might be using the wrong method to add or delete a page, depending on whether you’re working in a word-processing or page layout document. The process for adding and deleting pages is different for each type of document, so you need to know what type of document you have. So, click on Document in toolbar, then click Document tab, unselect "Document Body" that's it! change to page layout document, you can easily add or delete or rearrange, just right from Thumbnail view.

Entering page number on pages documents Where can I enter a page number to jump directly to that page instead of scrolling endlessly on a really long document, I've tried customising my toolbar but I didn't see that feature in the toolbar customise settings.

Click in the header or footer where the page number is to be inserted, then click on Insert Page Number.
