iTunes home sharing - PC to PC

I want to use home sharing to link (sync) two windows machines - one desktop and one laptop. I can make it work when I turn off home sharing, de-authorize both machines, and log out of both PCs, but it seems to only work then. Next day, it doesn't work on laptop.

I am using the same email address account for both. Then on both machines, I logging in -> Authorize device -> turn on home sharing on both machines. I can see in my laptop the library from my desktop. Music plays just fine.

The next day and this happened twice, I start up the laptop and and there is no synced library with my profile name. Hence I mentioned I did it twice since yesterday while having both machines at home, I did the same process again of turning off home sharing, de-authorize and login and reverse that process to make it work.

Kind of annoying having a feature that seems to only work then and there. I am using the same account when logging into iTunes.

What is the fix for this?
