Face ID not working because of the Stolen Device Protection

Hi,

I have this issue that my phone thinks it has been been stolen by someone who knows the code and therefore has disabled faceID(?). Therefore I am not able to turn off the stolen device protection (it needs to be verified by faceID). Has anybody had this issue? How did you fix it?

iPhone 11, iOS 18

That isn’t what’s happening. If Face ID is not working on your iPhone it is not possible to disable Stolen Device protection. If there were a way to disable it without biometric identification it wouldn’t be stolen device protection.

However, it may require you to wait one hour after trying to disable it, depending on how you set it up or where you are located (meaning not in a “familiar location”)
