Newsmax website problems only with Safari

Safari has YUGE problems with Newsmax website. Only way to make it work is to delete Safari history and that creates its own problems. Nothing else matters: no ad blocker in use, no blocked content selected. Newsmax is the ONLY site Safari has problems connecting to. Anyone have a clue as to why this happens.
