Without the screenshots to visualize what you are seeing, the best course of action would be to schedule an appointment with a local Apple Service provider.

Find Locations

Providing screenshots does not take any technical skill and you just need to press 2 button on your iPad at the same time to create a screen shot. Those button are identified here:

After that, submitting them in a post is done by choosing the picture icon under the message when you are posting and choose the screen shot you just took. The 2 screen shots that would be needed are:

  • With the charged AirPods in your ear and connected, go to Settings > [name of AirPods].
  • Go to Settings > General > Language & Region.

Ok, thanks for the screenshots. There are a couple of other things you can check:

  • Make sure your birthdate has been correctly entered as you will not see the test if your age is calculated at less than 18. Check at Settings > [name on top] > Personal Information (Name, Phone Number, Email) > Birthday.
  • Try the alternate method of performing the Hearing Test using the Health app.

This is the fourth time I have tried to send a reply. Each time the reply has been cut off after I composed and sent it. This is very debilitating for someone who is already stressed.

My iPad Pro is running OS18:3:1 The AirPods I bought last week have 7B21 firmware. They connected spontaneously and perfectly when introduced to the iPad. The instructions generated in the iPad's Settings skip from Noise Control to Call Controls; there is no Hearing Health section at all.

I hope this information is clear; unfortunately I do not have tech skills to send you a screen shot.
