Is there a reason my AirTag would not display battery level. Since it’s been over a year I replaced the battery just in case, but thought it was odd that it couldn’t tell me what percent it was at.

the more communication of current batt % it has to update to ios devices every X sec or min or hour
the faster the batt will run out, it will inform you when it's time to change the batt though
if you wish then you can suggest apple change how it operates using their feedback channels
