iPhone 12 requires speaker phone to hear callers
I have an IPhone 12. When I make a phone call I can’t hear the person on the phone unless I put my phone on speaker. What could be wrong with my phone?

Most likely a hardware issue that will require diagnostics by Apple. Before that is done, you can always try to do a Factory Reset to rule out the software as being a cause.

I’ve done all these things I’ve seen in the article above, still the same issue
Then it's time to have Apple look at the phone:

Then it's likely you have a hardware problem.
A 'me too' post. I've had this for a while on my iPhone 12 Pro. To be clear, it's not that there's no sound, or it's distorted. It's just really quiet, and I've tried all those things too, without success.

It sounds as if your problem might be different. However, the solution at this point may be the same: make arrangements with Apple to have diagnostics run.
Note that adjusting the volume while not on a call doesn't adjust the call volume. You can only adjust call volume while on a call.

I had also worked that out.
Part of the point of community support forums is so the product manufacturers and users can get a feel for the size of the problem. That was why I posted.
