Call failed issue in iPhone after iOS 18

I am using an iPhone 13, and ever since the first iOS 18 update up to iOS 18.3, I have been facing a “Call Failed” issue. I noticed that the problem occurs when I move the phone away from my ear while on a call. When the call fails, there is no record of it in the recent calls list. However, when using earphones, the issue does not occur. This problem specifically happens when the screen turns off or on due to the proximity sensor. Occasionally, calls go through without any issues, but more than 80% of my calls fail. I have already tried restoring my phone via PC, but it didn’t resolve the issue. Help me to resolve this issue.

I am having this EXACT issue and oddly enough when I move the phone away from my ear. I wake up every day and “reset my network” settings. I have a new sim card. Literally, nothing works. I think it’s time I say goodbye to Apple after 10 years. I have the latest Apple update but this is too frustrating. I use my phone to run my business and it’s a bad look always dropping the calls. It NEVER stops.

I have absolutely same issue, ever since i updated to iOS 18 and every next update is the same. The worst avout this is the call is not registred in the phone history and when a new client calls and this happen is very difficult to return the call... I tried everything, even full phone wipe and new setup and still it exists as a problem. Temporary fix is to reboot the phone but is that how i am supposed to use the sh1t phone?! Every few hours i have to reboot. Is there any dev working on this problem??

What was the last iOS version where the call failed did not happen? Did it start after the iOS 18.3 update?

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

Hello all,

I am facing the same issue since I updated ios18. Major problem is that you can’t see your call waiting while you’re on call because as soon as you take your phone away from ear the cal will fail and Infact you can’t see that cal in ur recent cal list

so strange and Apple doesn’t have any solution to such a big problem.

inspite of so many complain they even didn’t bother to get this problem solve and this problem is forcing us to buy a new phone
