Hearing aid/transparency mode randomly cuts out on Airpod pro 2 after recent update

This issue has been haunting both my pair or airpod pro 2s for over a year. With one update, it stops, and then the next update it resumes. Turning transparency mode back on manually works, but every minute (literally) is too much. The hearing aid functions cut out when the transparency randomly stops. So all of a sudden I can hear things well anymore. Ive been using these as hearing aids for years (long before they announced it) and they work well except for this maddening bug.

Does anyone know of a fix (I think it will have to be on Apples end that it gets fixed) besides turning the transparency mode on manually 20-40 times an hour?

Please fix it ASAP, Apple!

Hi Onager,

Am no expert in this area, yet your request deserves some response.

We don't know which settings you have in place for your iPhone and your AirPods in order to help troubleshoot.

Seems something may be over-riding your transparency setting.

Wondering if you can customize the settings to better suit your needs. Apple's video (or article below) may help:

We are all Apple users, like yourself, in the community, so Apple is unlikely to see your request here.

Unless someone with a similar situation replies, we have no way of knowing if others have the same problem.

You may want to send feedback to reach those who work behind-the-scenes at Apple. They will likely not reply, yet your feedback will be carefully read and logged, and if others also have this issue, it may be addressd in a future update. Web-form for feedback: Feedback - AirPods - Apple

Brbo - Thanks for your in depth reply. I appreciate your time and effort. Ive done most of that, and I know my way around computers. Ive got all the settings correct, even using my own audiogram. The issue vanished during two updates and returned after two updates, so I think its on Apples end. Ive found lots of others who have had the issue, not sure what percentage though. Im sure most people dont use them as hearing aids. Though its the transparency mode that cuts out, so Im sure that will irritate plenty of people.

I appreciate your great reply. Thank you.
