My AirTags are not showing in Find My

AirTags not showing up in my phone either. Sound has never worked for my AirPods in “find my” either. Unless you are directly on top of them and the case is open.

I have had a similar problem, it started when I was looking for my Airpods, they would not play a sound to help me find them, still haven't fixed that, what i did was add an AirTag to the Airpods using a special case from Amazon.

Just to be sure, where are your AirTags not showing up:

• In the Find My app on your iPhone?
• In the Find My app on your Mac? Have you tried with a Mac (assuming you have one available)?
• With Find My, via a web browser, @ icloud.com?

Did you purchase these tags new directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller? Since you have replaced their batteries, how long have you had them? Did you verify that the replacement batteries do not have a bitterant coating?

FWIW, I have an 3rd gen. iPhone SE, running iOS 18.3, and I don't see this same image on my phone.

Yes, this is somewhat baffling to me as well, as they appear to no longer be associated with your Apple Account (previously known as an Apple ID.) FYI, when you "pair" an AirTag with your iPhone, you are actually associating it with your account.

Again, I suggest that you reset them. Ref: How to reset your AirTag - Apple Support

If that doesn't help, then your next step would be to contact Apple Support directly for further assistance with this matter. To do so, simply select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.

1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
3. Press and hold the side button.
4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

then iPhone software re-starting (data will not be erased)

then check in Find my app

This happened to me after updating to iOS 18.4. I did reset the airtag and it still didn't show up. Finally had to switch off the whole iphone, wait a min or 2 and then all my AirTags showed up suddenly in another min.

... did you also verify that the replacement batteries do not have a bitterant coating? Even if when replacing the batteries, you got the "sound," they may not function properly.

Although you shouldn't need to by just replacing the battery, did you also reset the tags?

Same thing just happened to me. Yesterday all my AirTags were working fine. Today after OS update I got a notification I was being followed by an AirTag, then realized that all my AirTags were missing under “Items” in the Find My app. Looks like this just seems to happen to random people when updating the OS which is super annoying.

Just as I suspected, resetting the tag solved this issue. I'm glad you got it worked out.

Thanks so much for this. I had a slightly different issue: not all the functions for the air tags were available after the update. After doing the reset the app is normal again.

Had the same problem after updating to IOS 18.4. Fortunately, reset my phone and now it shows correctly. I didn’t have to reset any AirTags.
