Unable to disable silent mode on my iPhone

My iPhone Pro Max settings options changed overnight. I keep my phone on silent most of the time because I am elderly and use my MacBook Pro most of the time. Now I can't simply take it off silent anymore. How can I get the settings back to simply silencing and un-silencing ? I leave it on Do Not Disturb because of the amount of spam I get and I am home all day.

I don't think I was clear about what is happening. Since I am home all day I swipe down and in focus I tap on Do Not Disturb Mode. Then when I want to be able to receive a call I swipe down again and tap on focus allowing my phone to go back to normal sounds. This has changed overnight. Now I can't simply swipe down and turn Do Not Disturb on or off. When I swipe down I have to use the choice of DND for 1 hour, Until this evening or When I leave This Location. Since I can't wait an hour if I need to take my phone out of DND I can't use that, nor the This evening choice and definitely not Until I leave this Location. I rarely leave. I am going through chemo and leave my phone in Do Not Disturb mode so I don't have to listen to spam calls and notifications all day long. I took a screen shot but it is too large to insert.
