Drum Machine Designer - How to Keep Samples on One Octave?

Hey everyone,

I’m importing a drum loop directly into Drum Machine Designer (DMD) in Logic Pro, but I’m having issues with how the slices are mapped. Instead of keeping everything neatly assigned to a single octave (C1-B1), Logic seems to spread the samples unevenly across multiple octaves.

I want each chopped sound (kick, snare, hi-hat, etc.) to stay within one octave so I can trigger them easily with my MIDI controller and mix them separately.

Would really appreciate any tips! Thanks.

My DMD mapping seems ok here. It is not chromatically mapped but it is easy enough to navigate. Did you know you can assign the samples to play any note you want? (Learn Note)

This allows you to map it exactly the way you deem fit. Hope that helps.

P.S Consider using "Sampler" as it is easier to import multiple samples and play them chromatically.
