After some searching by web browser, via DuckDuckGo most results
included related Apple Support articles; including this thread due to
rename had been (AppleID) now shows Apple accounts.
(Contacts is an Apple iOS or macOS Application, easy to find
anyone including your own details within. I considered that as
a possible avenue that iCloud could've carried to an extreme.)
When I changed all Utilities addresses and confirmed fiscal
details, each one had specific means they expect for use.
So I know how that can be, and some aspects which may
make sense and could work OK; they may not prefer at all.
To back away from earlier ideas that might have worked, maybe
to try another direct action to resolve your issue from Apple?

From here you may find a portal to communicate with Apple rep.
Or option to chat; some work depending on your global region.
You'd have to sign-in to access the official portal link above.
If you have a computer (PC / Mac) there may be another way.
Seems what you accomplished was specific ~ to one aspect.
Anyway, as I've been writing this, with several windows open on Mac
some look into search result links; and other stuff, I'd think one above
might get you to an answer could exist. But won't guarantee anything!
