Still no Atmos above 5.1 in Apple Music and Apple TV App?

There are multiple posts from 2023 and before with people complaining that you don't get any surround format above 5.1 from Apple Music and Apple TV playing back on speakers with an audio interface that has more than 16 outputs. There seems to be a workaround using the loopback app, but that app costs $100 and I don't want to pay extra for something that should actually just work!

I updated to Sequoia and this problem is still not gone. Does anybody know why? Is this Apple telling us: buy our immersive headphones? Forget it! They sound poor compared to a real speaker setup. Otherwise, I really don't know how Apple could not fix this for two entire versions of macOS ...

Oh, and does anyone know a workaround with the free Blackhole app? It is a free alternative to loopback. But I could not create a 16 out of virtual audio interface with it. I could only create an aggregate device combining blackhole and my audio interface and that of course has more than 16 outs again ...
