How to increase screen resolution on MacMini and Eizo CX271

I'm a new Mac user and have paired my mini with an Eizo cx271 monitor that I already owned, connecting via HDMI I'm only able to see 1920x1080p in the settings.

photos look fine when working in Photomator but I would appreciate more resolution for general screen text and web browsing.

I think it might be due to using HDMI, but the monitor does not have a thunderbolt connection.

Is there any way to use more of the monitors max resolution of 2560x1440p?

The monitor has DVI-D 24 pin (with HDCP), DisplayPort (with HDCP), HDMI (with HDCP, Deep Color) input connections available.

Would appreciate any ideas!

Eizo – ColorEdge CX271

This is a 27", 2560x1440 pixel monitor with DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI-D inputs. It supports 10-bit-per-channel color on its DisplayPort and HDMI inputs.

If we're talking about a Mac mini (2018), or any Mac mini with a M-series chip, I'd suggest

The fact that the display does not have Thunderbolt inputs, or USB-C (DisplayPort) inputs, is not a problem. You can get adapters that go from USB-C to just about anything – including DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI.

If you do use a USB-C adapter (or a dock that has a video port), plug it into one of the rear-panel USB-C ports. On a M4 or M4 Pro Mac mini, the front-panel ports are single-purpose ports that only support USB.
