Does anybody use Contact Key verification? I’m debating on whether I should activate it.

Ha! I know the feeling. Brings back memories of creating secret codes as a kid.
I don't think it will hurt anything if you enable it. I'm hesitant to enable some of those sorts of things, though, as they introduce an additional level of complexity that may require troubleshooting. And I'm lazy.
so Basically, it is just like Signal with the code. Maybe I’ll find a friend that will indulge me and we can do drop offs in the local park

I think so... but I don't spend much time worrying about encrypting my messages so my knowledge is limited. I figure if anyone wants to know that the agency changed my housecleaning appointment from 2p to 10a or my Chewy auto ship order is arriving today or that I have friends who have birthdays, it's not a big deal. But I lead a rather sedate life these day.
Only you can determine if that level of security is necessary in your life.
