I guess you enjoy exposing your iPhone to scammers. iOS 18.3 plugs a Zero Day vulnerabilities. That translates to your iPhone is now vulnerable to easily being hacked. The hack is released and in the hands of hackers as I write this. In all, 29 known iPhone vulnerabilities are being patched by the update. You might just as well dump all your bank information on Time Square. I hope all your credit cards and debit cards have good fraud protection.

To remove an update, please follow this path,

iPhone > Settings > General > iPhone Storage > allow apps to populate > sort by size > look for update at or near top of list > swipe to left > press delete

I can understand that (as someone familiar with software development and working in web development).

I just had a close friend of mine experience it personally which is how I learned about it in the first place.

Also, when a release is that recent, the amount of users affected may not be known until the damage is already done.

And considering how Apple seems to be very unresponsive in my friend’s case and towards bugs that have persisted in iOS for years, it’s better safe than sorry sometimes.

That being said, I took several precautions (backups, power cycling, ensuring my devices were fully charged) and upgraded my iPhone and iPad last night (to iOS 18.3.1) and so far haven’t had any problems.

Yes, so a few people out of the roughly 500 million who were eligible to update had varying problems. That will happen whether you update or not; with a population that large there will always be some devices that are not working right.

When you see a few thousand posts about the identical problem that may be an indication of an issue more general. And if you see that come back and post about it.

The only issue is NOT installing it, especially as you are 3 versions behind, and each update typically blocks new vulnerabilities. Just going from 18.2.1 to 18.3 blocked 29.
