Why do my AirPods stop playing music during workouts?

I'm experiencing issues with my AirPods 2nd generation when I work out. The music suddenly stops playing. I tried turning off the automatic ear detection feature, but the problem persists.

I usually stream music from Spotify on my iPhone. It's strange because I previously used other headphones without experiencing this issue.

I'm not sure if there's a known problem with this Apple model.

Can someone help me?

I believe they may just be old. Yours are AirPods 2, introduced in 2019, almost 6 years ago. The batteries may be wearing out. You can probably have the battery replaced. Or it may be time to upgrade to newer ones.
