Removing misspelt words from the Pages dictionary

This is a solution not a problem You can add words to the dictionary in Pages by mistake by clicking the wrong choice using spell check.

Many people have asked how to remove these in Community. None of the answers suggested worked for me. .

But this solution worked for me.

Go to Pages -settings - auto-correction- (see the box), ignored words. Delete the misspelt words in that list and spellchecking is accurate again.

Pages can't even spell a 2 letter word! Since using the latest version of pages I have noticed it is randomly underlining correctly spelled words. I've been ignoring it up until now, but it has started becoming so annoying I'm convinced it is broken. Just to be certain, I have "check spelling by typing" switched on and nothing else. Today, it is insisting the word "by" is mispelled. I haven't asked Pages to check the grammar of the sentence it appears within, so why does it continue to pick out random words such as 'their', 'there' when they are correctly used. How can I stop it but keep the spell check on? I'd also like to know how I can get Pages to stop highlighting words it doesn't have in its spelling database (but clearly should).

Turning off Pages predictive text With a new update, Pages seems to want to guess what my word will be, and show it in grey, with an option of hitting space to insert that guessed word. It interrupts my flow, and distracts me more than anything. How do I disable that? This is not related to spell check or autocorrect, that's already off.

Deleting words by accident in Pages When I am typing quickly, I often correct automatically by hitting the delete key and fixing the erroneous letter, by moving the cursor. For some reason, Pages now highlights the entire word, meaning that when I hit delete, I lose the entire word. Moreover, if I am fat-fingered, I can lose 2-3 words instead of just moving the cursor. How can I turn off this feature? It is enough of an annoyance for me to go back to Word (shudder).
