Music library says no songs when there are on my iPod

I can no longer listen to my music on my iPod. The files are there but suddenly it says 0 songs, even when I look at it through my iMac

Apple Music shows the iPod Nano as a connected device, as well as the music library (songs) thereon but cannot play any songs straight from the iPod. music/songs missing from itunes In the past week, my music/songs are no longer showing in itunes, and when I connect my ipod classic to sync podcasts, itunes no longer shows ipod connected, although windows has it connected.

iTunes shows no music on my device When using iTunes for PC, clicking on “on my device” shows no music for iPhone 14. I have all my songs downloaded to my phone and I can see my playlists. I have Apple Music with sync on. I was able to see songs on “on my device” before I had Apple Music. Is this normal?
