My EDIT mode button just disappeared from my email on my iPad. I checked the customized tool and there is no EDIT icon to restore.
What happened and how do I restore this mode?

Same here. The Edit button just goes away. I use it a lot when mass deleting Trash email.
Also when I jump from Trash email to Inbox it shows a little screen icon to the right. You can add to a few.
And when you’re in a hurry and not paying attention to what it is you can delete data in a folder you didn’t want to delete. How you turn that off.
