Previous Take Audible During Recording Pre-Roll

This is driving me insane. I'm not punching in; I'm just recording. I've been using Logic Pro for the past twenty years, and have never faced this issue before. It started a couple of months ago, when I moved to an M4 machine and installed Logic from scratch.

If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it, as I have a deadline for a pitch and I can't really do much right now. 😩

Hi,

Have you tried deleting unused files in the Project Bin? Hope it helps.

To delete audio files from the Project Browser in Logic Pro 11, open the Project Audio Browser, select the desired audio file(s), and then press the "Delete" key on your keyboard; you can also right-click on the selected files and choose "Delete File(s)" from the menu.

Key points to remember:

  • Accessing the Project Browser:

Click the "Browsers" button in the control bar and select "Project" or go to "View > Show Browsers".

  • Selecting unused files:
  • To specifically delete only unused audio files, use the "Select Unused" option in the Project Browser to highlight files not currently used in the project
  • Deleting files vs. removing project reference:

Deleting an audio file in the Project Browser removes it from the project, but the original file might still exist in your file system.

I have deleted unused files and it hasn’t made any difference, because… why would it?

I spoke to Apple Support on Friday, and the support agent was seeing the same behaviour with his machine. That tells me it’s a bug related to the 11.1 update where they changed punch-in monitor behaviour. The devs are calling me this week.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that, previously, if two audio regions overlapped, the one to the right would interrupt the one to its left. That is no longer the case. Strange.
