Apple Super Drive does not work with the new Mac Mini (M2 Chip)?

My Mac Mini (M2 Chip) does not "see" connected optical drives for reading CDs and DVDs. My Super Drive works fine with an earlier iMac but not the Mini. I have a sense that the Mini "C" port through a C to Lightening adapter does not have enough power to operate the optical drive. Apple is not offering a Super Drive with a "C" jack. Without the ability to input CDs to the Mini I need to retain the iMac for import/export and pass the contents to the mini with Airplay or through iCloud. I have not seen any comments from Apple nor have I seen any lower current demand optical drives. Is there a booster or other accessory to make an optical drive work with the Mac Mini?

After I posted my comments I found a reference to using only the Apple USB-C to USB adapter. I immediately ordered one that will arrive tomorrow and I will specifically attach that to the back of the mini to see what happens. According to what I read there is some circuitry in these adapters but Apple has its own version that should work. I will post results later this week.
