Text style applies to whole sentence, not a part of it.

Hello all, I am trying to format a resume, where a part of the sentence is in bold small caps, and the rest of the sentence is not. For some reason I am not being able to be selective, when I change the style in half the sentence, it is applied to the whole sentence. This is only happening in a section of my document, but can't figure out how to make it work. Here is a portion of the text.
