Hi, Shortcake1 ,do you mean you can't back up to iCloud because your iCloud space is limited or having errors? I paid for iCloud+ for 2 months but realized I also need a local, unlimited, free, or one-time paid option 🤣.
So if you have a laptop or computer, you can back up your whole phone to your computer. You can read this article 👈. iTunes can do a full backup on your computer, but it can't do it selectively, so you can choose the one you like.

My guess is you are out of space in iCloud, thus you can't backup your iPhone. Open the Settings App. Tap your name at the top. Then tap iCloud. How much storage is available? If as I suspect is the case, you need to buy more space in the cloud or the messages are correct that you are in danger of losing data which is not backed up.

You can go from the free 5GB plan to 50GB for $1 per month.
No! It just says 'If your iPhone is lost or damaged, your data could be lost. Upgrade now or manage storage.' So I honestly have no clue.
What happens when you try to back it up?
Are you attempting to back it up to iCloud or to your computer.
