I can’t type my passcode

I am transferring to a new iPhone and I updated the software to 18.3 but I can’t type my passcode after the software downloaded finish and the phone restarted. What do I do pls. It’s an iPhone 12

Another thing to try is a Force Restart.


  • Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  • Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  • Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo

This usually means an issue with the iPhone screen digitizer, and that it needs to be replaced. Note that the iPhone 12 isn't "new" and that you should take it back to whoever you purchased it for a refund or exchange.


Otherwise, make an appointment at your nearest Apple Store's Genius Bar or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for service.
