Pages: problems with spacing between body and footer

The footer is too close to the body text above it.

I found a new solution: just click before the page number in the footer and put a return. It introduces a space above the page number on all pages!

I tried adjusting the bottom margin but that didn't work for me.

Text box moving with page but covers footer, and not header. I have a text box near the bottom of my page that is set to "move with page", when I put content about the text box it moves down, content that isn't in the text box jumps to the next page, but the text box continues down and covered the footer until it hits the margin and then jumps to the next page. When it does this, it doesn't cover the header. Is this a bug or is there a setting I can change to stop this happening?

Pages With Pages, sometimes when I start a new line, that line seems to be the start of a new paragraph. It changes to double-spacing automatically. After that blue thing, when you click to move down a line, it takes you down two lines instead. I am totally puzzled...

Pages changes formatting every time I enter a new text bullet or paragraph I've created custom styles for my documents. In my "body" style, I have set the font-size to 11. Whenever I start a new text-bullet or paragraph in the font size is 12 and "Body" has a * next to it. I've tried resizing the font to 11 and then clicking update style - but it just doesn't seem to stick. A minor issue - but I find it disproportionately frustrating and fixing it constantly breaks my flow. Can anyone help me with tips or tricks to resolve this?
