I tried transferring money from Apple Cash to cash app and the money disappeared

Cash App is a product/service of Square, now known as Block. They are not a bank, they’re a FinTech. Fintechs have to partner with banks to offer many financial services such as transfer of funds. Cash App partners with Sutton Bank to offer many financial services.
Look for an account with Sutton Bank that you may not recognize.
