Meris DDoS Botnet issue

Iphone safari searches getting error message.

Hi. I have been having issues when using Safari’s search on my iphone. I keep getting a pop-up with the "I'm not a robot" box and then text that starts with "we have detected that your router/modem may be compromised and part of the Meris DDos botnet, or you are using a proxy associated with past Meris attacks...," it goes on to list an IP address that does not have the same first digits as my computer and router, Has anyone had this happen know what is causing it? called the company that provides my internet service that provided the router and they say it's my phone not the router/modem because it does not happen on my home computer.

If this is happening when your iPhone is connected to your home Wi-Fi, then it will be far the most likely that it's the router, despite what your provider claims. That it appears not to happen with your home computer is not proof that it's your iPhone, something which would be highly unlikely. I would suggest first just restarting the router and see if that clears up the issue. If not, your router may need a firmware update. Also check the router's administration interface, if you have access to it, and make sure that there are no unidentified devices connected to your service; if someone is "pirating" your connection, they could be causing such a flag.

If your router is made by Mikrotik, then their information is worth reading for additional suggestions:
