Image Playground: "Photo Library Unavailable"

After the macOS 15.3 update, I tried to see if Image Playground now works for me, previously getting an error "unable to use that description".

After this update, I am getting "Photo Library Unavailable. Open Photos to use Image Playground."

I figured it out!

In the Photos app, from the Photos -> Settings menu item, there's a General tab with "Library Location: myusername > Pictures > Photos Library". Below that there are two buttons, "Show in Finder" and "Use as System Photo Library".

Click "Use as System Photo Library". For me, that greyed out the button and Image Playground works!

(Though there are still weird things, like there are no people on the "Person" button's window.)

I ran into the same problem as everybody on this thread. I went to the System Settings->Apple Intellegence & Siri and saw that Apple Intellegence is being downloaded (I had the download completed since MacOS 15). Once the download completed, I went back to Image Playground and the message "Unable to use that description." was gone. Everything was back to normal.

Please check the status of Apple Intellegence to see if the download completed. I guess, you might want to disable Apple Intellegence then reenable it to start a new download.

Hope this helps....
