There were several 13" MacBook Pros that had Touch Bars. Some were Intel-based. Others were Apple-Silicon-based – they had plain M1 chips or plain M2 chips.


To use Apple Intelligence on a Mac, that Mac must have

  • A Mac with an Apple Silicon chip – e.g., in your case, a M1 or M2 chip
  • macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later
  • Device language and Siri language set to the same supported language

There are currently restrictions with respect to the European Union and China mainland.


You also must go into System Settings and ask the Mac to "Get Apple Intelligence" (see Support article).
