Backup to PC Using new Apple Devices APP

I have previously backed up my iPhone 14+ using iTunes and encrypted. Tonight I used Apple Music and Apple Devices Apps running under windows 10.

Decided not to encrypt, App asks for password, I give it the last iTunes password, rejected. I have spent 2 hours wasting time trying a host of previous backup and apple account passwords but no luck. I am able to open the last iTunes encrypted backup with its password, so that password is correct.

Anyone had the same problem? Able to solve it?

See If you can’t remember the password for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch encrypted backup - Apple Support. You should be able to apply steps 1 through 4, then make an unencrypted backup to Apple Devices.

FWIW I recommend sticking with iTunes as opposed to the new suite of apps. I don't think they are ready yet and omit many useful features from iTunes.

The weird thing is that for the last full backup using iTunes, the password for that one works.

i can’t seem to go back to iTunes. It does not recognise my phone and only has blogs and music functions available now.

To go back to iTunes you must uninstall whichever of Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Devices you have installed. Until then iTunes is limited to audiobooks and podcasts, and the device management features are disabled.
