when is the touch bar coming back for Macbook Pro?

The Discussions is a user forum, so you only get users' perspectives here, not the official Apple perspective. But Apple probably would not reveal too much anyway.

Apparently, the touch bar was fairly unpopular with both the user community in aggregate, as well as the developer community. It also created some new failure modes with the added complexity. From what I have read, return of the touch bar is very unlikely in future laptops.

The Touchbar is one of Apple's failed experiments. I never saw any third party developers....actually never even really saw Apple leverage the Touchbar in any meaningful way. If app developer's cannot find a way to utilize and support it, then it goes away as a failure.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for the Touchbar returning.

I understand there is/was a Windows gaming laptop out there which may have added a Touchbar.....they added it in addition to keeping the row of Function keys which makes it more likely it could stay around, but again.....are any third party developers actually supporting it? I cannot find a link to reference as the news article I saw was from several years ago, but I did find something else.....an interactive touch screen for the Trackpad....maybe that is for you (assuming anyone actually supports it)?
