Podcast Queue Not Syncing Between Devices

I primarily use my podcast app on my iPhone 14 (18.1.1), but I find it easier to manage the queue on my MacBook Air (Sonoma 14.5), so I was hoping to be able to just sync both devices to have the queue easier to manage. I have followed all of the instructions about how to sync podcasts (signed into iCloud and sync turned on on both devices). I even physically connected the phone to the computer and hit the sync button on the podcasts app on my computer to see if that would help, and it looked like it did - it looked like it was adding my current queue from my mac to my phone, but it's not on my phone. Everything else from the podcasts app seems to have synced other than maybe a few episodes of podcasts that I know I've listened to that are showing up as unplayed. What else can I try to get the queues to sync? Is that even possible?
